DizzycacherParticipant
Seems I did miss the real cache. The cache owner has told me what I should have been looking for. It still seems odd that the Munzee would appear in the same place but I don’t think I’ll be signing up to that site to find out more.
DizzycacherParticipantThanks Dave. I shall contact the cache owner and check with them just in case I’ve missed something.
DizzycacherParticipantTo me an old cache implies that it has achieved most of the criteria suggested on the geocaching site for hiding a cache, a great view or something nearby of interest, that kind of thing. Though I have to accept that what I deem as a good cache may not appeal to others, just as puzzles don’t appeal to me! I’d be sad to see the Ten Tors Challenge series go as that got me started as I gradually built my confidence in my GPS and ventured further and further on to the moor. Caches often outlive the owner who’s moved on, or got tired of caching, I can recall several cachers from when I first started who have dropped off the website now. I guess nothing is ever meant to last forever.
DizzycacherParticipantSo pleased I checked this website! I was somewhat put out to see that OS had mysteriously disappeared and thought it was something I’d done. I’ve followed LympstoneBogtrotters instructions and have got it back again. Many thanks!
DizzycacherParticipantThanks to Tamerton Chocolates I have now downloaded Greasemonkey. I had no idea this kind of stuff was available, and I was impressed at how easy it was to set up. I may now start to look at Dave’s Dartmoor challenges……..
DizzycacherParticipantI’ve finally got around to registering on this website and I have to say thanks for setting it up Dave. I’m sure I will be using it quite a bit for reference and a little help here and there. Great work! Happy New Year to all you Dartmoor cachers.
