SabartimesineParticipant
I do not live particularly close to Dartmoor but before archiving those great caches out there I would be willing to adopt as I do spend quite some time out there. So sad that I did not manage to finish the Forrest series. Was really enjoying it.
Not sure how to go about it. I will have a look at the caches.
SabartimesineParticipantHmm, don’t get why you would want less caches. There are loads of caches going live all the time I would never bother with, it does not mean I would rather see them go. I like to do a series now and then just for the walk and being somewhere new. When doing a 20 plus series I don’t expect unusual hides or containers all the time. After that I return to the Moor. Otherwise I get withdrawal symptoms, so the more there are the better for me, particularly in remote areas. Some people would probably rather chew their own arm off then come to Dartmoor, so hurray for density and variety of caches and locations…whatever floats your boat.
SabartimesineParticipantFor me it depends very much on the Riddle. I have been along to Riddler final searches I did not log because the effort that went into getting to that stage was enormous, so I did not feel it appropriate to log a find just because I was there for the retrieve. If it is just 5 mins getting stuff from the Internet I would log a find and would not mind others logging a find if they were with me at the time.
I quite like my cache count going up but am amazed how desperate some people seem to be to increase theirs.SabartimesineParticipantFirst time I have really come across this but people seem to be logging either the burnt out remains of a container or a nearby Munzee as a ‘Found’ on http://coord.info/GC2AHNJ. I normally try to stay well clear of geocaching politics, but I felt compelled to comment on it in my log. For me it is signing the log book that qualifies anybody to log the cache. Similar thing at 19 of the series.
Only good thing is finding out about Munzee. Might have to check it out as it looks quite interesting. 🙂- This reply was modified 12 years, 6 months ago by Sabartimesine.
SabartimesineParticipantWOW, Dave. You are keeping yourself very busy I see. Thanks for taking on the series. It is one of my favourite ones out there and it would have been a shame to lose it.
SabartimesineParticipantHave installed the Greasemonkey script on Firefox and everything is back to normal, apart from the hybrid satellite and road overlay. Mighty glad as I use satellite a lot, particularly when caching on the Moors.
